Aftonbladet is the biggest media site in Scandinavia with more then 2 million unique visitors every day. They have successfully launched their service "Snack", article comments and have a release plan for 50 editorial groups within this and next years. We called the man in charge to hear how they think XCAP is working for them.

Hi there Andreas Aspegren. You have been working with XCAP for a 6 months now, how is everything going?

The main point that has worked well for us is the administration-panel were we handle the abuse. That is something that was important for us at Aftonbladet from the get go. We are also very pleased with the uptime of XCAP and how the reader comments on our articles works. We have a fantastic growth here!

What's your next move?

We have just now released reader comments on our webtv. So our readers are able to comment on the latest top stories. Our ambition is to let them record video comments and append these to the end of our video reports. Currently we are working on moving our existing blogs, about 27.000 of them, to XCAP with a release date around dec/ jan. The next step after that is to release new forums/boards and replace our old chat with the XCAP chat engine. We have only seen the beginning regarding our work to engage our readers more and more in our journalism at Aftonbladet.
